It's high time to give local communities a proper say in their future Lydia Hill

Labour picks local for County
I’m Lydia Hill your Labour Candidate for Cambridgeshire County Council. Haddenham is my home. I have lived in the heart of our community for 31 years.
Currently many local people feel ignored – no wonder that only 38% bothered to vote here last County Elections. It doesn’t have to be like this. We need to move power away from Central Government and give local communities a real say.
It’s vital we tackle Climate Change, we’re running out of time! Labour-run Cambridge City has made significant progress in going green. They have a clear Climate Change Strategy This covers greater sustainability, reducing emissions, more recycling, less waste, and helping communities manage climate change e.g flooding. I want a similar proper Climate Plan for Cambridgeshire County so we can test all projects against our Green aims.
I want to involve a wide range of people in decision making. Without it we will miss out on vital skills and knowledge. With it, we really can take the action needed to stop Climate Change and improve all our futures.
