Climate and economic justice campaigner chosen for County
I’m Phil White and I’ve lived in Balsham for 30 years. I moved here to work in technology ‘for a couple of years’, but my family and I liked it so much that we stayed!
Cambridgeshire is pretty well-off. But there’s too much inequality, with some areas being as deprived as the worst third of England.
I’d like to build on our successes and work together to improve life for all, not just for a small wealthy minority. We must improve economic and social wellbeing. We particularly need to improve housing, transport and education.
I’m working to make a difference on climate and economic justice. I’m active nationally in the 99% Organisation and in Green New Deal UK. I work in the ‘Future Generations’ All Party Parliamentary Group pushing for longer term thinking in government. And of course the local Labour group in Balsham,
I’m lucky to get out and about in Cambridgeshire, particularly during Covid. My heart reaches out to those living in overcrowded conditions.
