South East Cambridgeshire Labour

I feel fortunate that I’ve live in Histon. I’m not sure that a younger Geoff Moore could afford to move here now.
For many people buying a house seems an impossible dream and rents are high too with little available. I will insist on a minimum of 40% affordable homes on any new development with Council Homes for social rent being my preferred option.
I am also keen to find local solutions for housing. That’s why I’m a shadow trustee of Histon and Impington Community Land Trust. This is a democratic, non-profit organisation that aims to own and develop land for the benefit of the local community and with its full involvement.
I have a background in housing having worked for housing associations in East Anglia and in London. And I have a track record in delivering to the local community, for example having been a founder member of Histon and Impington Community Orchard. We transformed a patch of grassland to the current orchard and put an emphasis on improving biodiversity.
