I moved to Impington from Cambridge and I like how the community takes the environment seriously. I want to find imaginative and community based ways to do even more.

We’re quite well set up for cycling and walking but there’s more to do to encourage people out of their cars. I support 20mph limits where people live, work and play. It’s great how the Labour team at the County Council are helping to make this possible.

South Cambs has the highest CO2 emissions in the county — we need urgent action to cut this.

Making sure we have well-insulated homes would make a big difference and save on people’s energy bills – and with fuel costs soaring this is needed now more than ever. Why not have community wide thermal imaging surveys? It would be cost effective to assess a whole street at once and give householders the info they need to tackle the ‘hot spots’.

There’s enough local talent here to support repair cafes and I’m sure a ‘library of things’ would be popular – so we could borrow tools etc rather than buying new. All good ways to cut consumption.
