Elizabeth McWilliams

Local Green enthusiast selected for Labour

Elizabeth Mcwilliams is a Landbeach Parish Councillor and has lived in our area for 18 years. Labour selected Elizabeth for her firm roots in our villages and for her passionate commitment to the environment.

Elizabeth says

I want to make a real difference.

At home, our family is environmentally aware. Recycling – of course. Reducing waste by donating or selling the stuff we no longer need. Repairing rather than throwing out. Using freecycle or buying second hand. We’re also vegetarian for environmental reasons.

As a councillor, it will be my mission to make South Cambs a top performing Council and to involve the community too. My priorities are

  • A massive improvement in recycling from 94th position to the best
  • Stop investing in fossil fuels. South Cambs is about average for pension money in fossil fuel companies
  • Get serious about active travel – stop making excuses and sort the A10 path out
  • Set up community composting schemes – and become peat free.

If you agree it’s time for real action with a purpose, then support me to be one of your local councillors.
