South East Cambridgeshire Labour

Dr Nik Johnson is Labour’s candidate for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Mayor
Our area is crying out for low cost, affordable and social housing.
My top priorities are building more social housing, clever transport investment and sustainable infrastructure. I was elected as a district councillor on a manifesto demanding that at least 50% of new build developments should be social housing or affordable homes.
As mayor I want to see a massive increase in social housing and affordable homes. The 50% share matters. I will keep pushing for it.
The Conservative Mayor, James Palmer, has failed to deliver on his £100m promise to build 2,000 affordable homes. I believe what is needed to build these homes is co-operation with all partner councils and Housing Associations.
Building and providing much more social housing is one of the key policies I pledge to put into place if elected in May.
