Keeping housing safe. Keeping people safe in their homes. Working with our great communities I really think we can make a difference.
I want to restore confidence in the police. Many residents do not feel like they are being heard or listened to. It’s time to bring the police to the community. To sit at the table to be led by the community on what really matters. To work together on solutions to problems.
Yes, crimes need to be dealt with by the police, but we should be aiming to stop the crimes happening in the first place.
Neighbourhood watches are key and they should be given voice and a bigger role in helping our communities. Neighbourhood policing works only if our neighbourhoods are involved and invested in it. We need real neighbourhood working, bringing our communities to the table with the police and not the other way round.
As a survivor of domestic abuse, I am passionate about supporting victims. Workplaces can help so that staff know what to do if someone confides in them. I will deliver a county-wide conference to agree best ways to tackle domestic abuse.
