Rebecca Denness has lived here for 16 years. She wants to serve on the County Council to help deliver a more sustainable Ely.
Ely is a beautiful place with wonderful community activities. It’s been great to see people looking after each other during Covid. I’m proud to run errands for the vulnerable.
I enjoy serving the community on the Parish Council. I hope I can meet residents again soon. Hearing your views matters to me.
I always ask the Green Question. We urgently need to tackle the climate crisis. Being Highways Lead on the Parish has made me see how many key decisions are taken at County.
Education is important. I have two teenaged sons and am Vice Chair of Governors at Ely St John’s Community Primary. I took an Open University degree and give back by helping to support students. I was a Civil Servant for 25 years and ended up specialising in Education. I know how Government operates and want to make it work for Ely families.
