Few areas of England have such fragmented schools provision as the area around Ely. With 8 different organisations, of varying types and sizes, running schools it is hardly surprising that collaboration is becoming more difficult. Despite the hard work of schools, the area has some significant educational challenges which need cooperation not competition.

Our Ely Area Schools Update is a blog highlighting local schools issues. One of our tasks will be to track and report on the changes to how local schools are run. We will monitor the proposed cuts to Cambridgeshire County Council's shrinking education services and look at how national education policy is affecting schools here.
