Burwell, Bottisham & Woodditton
Bottisham Ward campaign video for the East Cambridgeshire District Council elections 2019:
The Burwell group covers a large area taking in the small villages around Newmarket as well as the slightly larger settlements of Swaffham Bulbeck, Swaffham Prior, Burwell and Bottisham. It’s made up of the East Cambridgeshire District Council wards of Burwell, Bottisham and Woodditton.
We are an active group and can often be found out and about chatting to residents all over the area, either knocking on doors or holding stalls so voters can come and talk to us.
At the moment, we are gearing up for the District Council elections in May 2019 and if you’re a member we would love to meet you. Please check the Events page to see our latest canvassing dates or check out our Facebook events page.
From our conversations with the electorate – and our own experience as residents of the area – we know that in this part of South East Cambridgeshire, people are particularly concerned about the lack of affordable housing and the poor public transport. These problems are the result of a Tory obsession with privatisation and the market, the Conservatives’ ideological austerity agenda, and their total lack of interest in ordinary people who rely on public services every day. We work hard to get Labour’s positive vision across to voters and can’t wait to start fighting for the election of Labour District Councillors in May!
Please come back soon to learn about our candidates across the area, and to read about our policies.
The group holds regular meetings and if you’d like to come along, please watch out for an email from Liz Swift, the Burwell Group Secretary. And whether you’re a member or not, please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions:
